Nemanja Matic

The Serbian has not had his best season at Stamford Bridge this term. He’s been off form, failing to replicate the performances that made him one of the world’s best centre defensive midfielders last season.

However, I am willing to write this season off as a blip on the radar for the Serbian. He’s simply too good, too built and too smart to be this bad consistently. I’m not sure how or why things went off the rails for Matic, but I don’t predict they’ll last.

Furthermore, his size and strength will make the perfect shield for Chelsea’s back line. He can protect the defense, while also forming a strong link to the two midfielders before him. He’s the perfect man for this position, and I predict that he’ll rise to the occasion.
