4. Javier Hernández
It’s very unlikely to find a player who can match the amount of attention and hype that David Beckham created for MLS back in 2007. Still, if there is one who could come close in the United States, that is Javier “Chicharito” Hernández.
The Mexican international has rediscovered his form in Germany after a couple of tough seasons in England and Spain. An attacking star for Bayer Leverkusen, it’s highly unlikely that the Mexican superstar joins MLS anytime soon. Still, Chicharito himself confirmed that he had been in talks with Orlando City last summer in what could’ve been a demolishing attacking formation with Kaká.
While this one might have to wait, it’s a certainty that MLS clubs are not going to stop insisting, especially after seeing the amount of people in the U.S. who tuned in to watch Mexico vs. Canada recently (2,013,000 on UniMas). Taking into consideration MLS’ success in bringing Rafa Márquez and Gio dos Santos, it won’t be surprising to see the Little Pea scoring in Los Angeles or Orlando one of these days.
