England’s predicted starting lineup for EURO 2016
2. Harry Kane
Harry Kane is without a doubt one of the most prolific goalscorers in England. And there is no doubt that he will have the confidence to transfer that goalscoring ability to his international team. Kane is also one of the young guns on this squad, at 22, but he will be looked to in many ways.
He has scored 21 goals this season for Tottenham, who is scattered throughout this English team. Expect Kane to treat his English experience much like Tottenham’s, if there is a ball to be finished, he will tuck it home. The two strikers in this 4-3-3 (or 4-3-1-2) are in form and they can be counted on to score goals for this team.
Kane also brings a hold up play ability to this team. When England needs to keep the ball for a while, he can be the forward who checks in and out and helps keep possession. He does this for Tottenham. He often checks back, receives the ball, plays it off and then checks out. It is just a way to help calm this team down and help them to keep the ball when they aren’t attacking.
It would be a surprise if Harry was not in the starting lineup and the only way it would happen is if he was injured beforehand. He needs to start, he deserves to start and he will start for this team come game time.
