3. Neymar deserved to score

Out of the trio of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, and Neymar, it was the Brazilian who played the best. Suarez may have had two goals but Neymar certainly had the most chances and should have had a goal to his own. He was everywhere tonight and created chances all over the pitch. Creating chances, sending balls into the box and try to create some magic.

Sitting on the left-wing, Neymar and Jordi Alba created havoc for JuanFran and made the Spaniard work hard to keep him off the score sheet. He had a header go just over the bar and had a free header go straight to Oblak. Put that ball anywhere else and it’s a goal. Two curlers that came very close as one pinged off the crossbar and one inching just wide of the far post. With those chances, he certainly should have scored. He was easily Barcelona’s best player on offense.

It was also impressive considering the beatings that he takes against Atletico Madrid. It’s fair to say that some of the players on Atletico and Neymar don’t see eye to eye and that he has been subject to some very brutal tackles. Like the some Lucas had on the Brazilian where he was stopped on the break with a hip check.
