Luke Shaw

It seems like forever since we’ve been Luke Shaw on the pitch for United, but he’s still a solid bet to be the club’s starter at left-back this season. Reports suggest that he’s close to a return to fitness at the moment, and there’s no reason to believe he won’t be healthy when next season begins.

When fit, Shaw is one of the best left-backs in the Premier League and is certainly deserving of his place with the English National Team. He is a solid defender with above average ability moving forward as well. There isn’t too much he can’t do out there on the pitch.

He also happens to be one of van Gaal’s favorite players which makes him a virtual lock to start most games for the club next year. I wouldn’t be shocked to see the club purchase some cover for Shaw, but it won’t be a player with enough quality to challenge him for his starting place.

Manchester United fans can breathe a sigh of relief once Luke Shaw is back manning their left-back spot. He is the rare defender that improves both a club’s defense and offense when he’s out on the pitch.
