Morgan Schneiderlin

I’m still amazed that Morgan Schneiderlin hasn’t been a starter all year-long for Manchester United, but I do believe van Gaal will see the error of his ways next year. Look for the French international to be a mainstay in the 2016/17 starting 11.

He may not be playing quite as well as he did for Southampton previously, but it’s a reasonable bet that his performance will improve if he’s provided a consistent starting role. It would be even more helpful if he were given a consistent partner in the Red Devils’ pivot.

Even absent of those things, Schneiderlin has been at worst an adequate defensive midfielder for United this year. He’s posted a Whoscored.com player rating of just a shade under 7.0 in 24 League appearances. Count on both of those numbers to experience a significant jump next season.

Morgan Schneiderlin’s second year at Manchester United will allow fans to forget about his exceedingly average first year. Look for the Frenchman to be a key figure of United’s rise up the Premier League table next year.
