5. The Managers

On paper, Louis Van Gaal is one of the best managers in the world and Mauricio Pochettino is a nobody. However, this season has thrown everything up in the air and Pochettino has become one of the best and most likeable managers in the Premier League. Whereas Van Gaal has been fighting for his job for the majority of the season. Although things did look bright for Van Gaal when these two teams met for the first game of the season, but since then both have gone in very different directions.

After a successful summer, Manchester United were expected to be pushing for the league title and Tottenham were predicted a ninth place finish from some ‘pundits’ and it is fair to say no one expected Pochettino to turn things around like he has done. Likewise, no one expected Manchester United to drop down even lower and that has happened and Van Gaal seems to have been fighting for his job since before Christmas, with many predicting he would be out of a job by the new year.

Pochettino has described Van Gaal as one of the best managers and when the two meet up on Sunday afternoon, I expect a big game with lots of goals. A top four finish for Van Gaal might just save his job, whereas Pochettino will surely be rewarded for the fantastic job he has done regardless if Tottenham win the league or not.
