5. Diego Simeone vs Pep Guardiola

This will be a battle of two of the best coaches in Europe as Pep Guardiola will lead the Bavarians against the eccentric Diego Simone of Atletico Madrid. Both of these coaches are two of the best tactically and are two of the most animated coaches on the sidelines. Especially Simone who looks to fire up his players and the crowd every minute of the game.

But obviously the real battle will be tactically. Guardiola is a master of tactics and is able to implement his style with any player he has on the Bayern squad. You can see that in the way he rotates his starting XI’s and the versatility he gives his players. Simeone has great tactics as well but his real strength is his ability to work with his players and motivate them. His players will risk their lives for Simeone and it’s evident every game.

As shown in this years knockout stages, substitutions and mid game adjustments will be key. As shown with Juventus’s loss to Bayern, late game substitutions have made an impact or you will suffer badly. Both managers will be tested throughout this tie and especially in the first leg where they will have to make initial adjustments during the game.
