1. Atletico Madrid are built for this competition

In a tournament that is usually dominated by gigantic clubs such as Bayern, Real Madrid, and FC Barcelona, Atletico Madrid are establishing themselves as party crashers in this tournament. But they should be shed of that label as this is their second final in three years. A lot of credit should be given to Diego Simeone as he made his players believe in the game plan and they executed it to perfection. They sat back and defended and pounced on one mistake from Bayern Munich.

If this doesn’t cement Simeone as the best manager in European football, then I don’t know what does. He has taken a club like Atletico Madrid and has made them competitive with the big clubs not only domestically, but in Europe as well. It’s not everyday that a team beats Bayern Munich and FC Barcelona back to back over a two leg tie. Credit to Atletico Madrid.

But Simeone may not be on the sideline during the Champions League final as he was seen hitting the 4th official on the arm for not making a substitution. We all know Simeone has an angry side to him and with that action, it may have costed him the chance to coach his team in the UCL final.
