4. Jose Mourinho isn’t coming

This is another lesson that shouldn’t surprise many United fans who’ve been paying attention as of late. Despite Mourinho’s best efforts to push and prod United into making him their manager, the club has steadfastly refused. The decision of Sanches to sign elsewhere should be the final nail in the rumor of Mourinho’s impending arrival.

Remember that many believed super agent Jorge Mendes would steer Sanches to Old Trafford to play under his other client and friend, Mourinho. The sharp turn of Sanches to sign for Bayern instead should provide everyone with a clear indication that Mourinho is not going to be the manager at United next season.

If he were, I’m a firm believe that Mendes would have advised his client to wait for him to sign with the Premier League club. There was no reason for Sanches to rush to a transfer decision. At the very least, Mendes would have advised him to wait for Mourinho if he believed there was a real chance of him managing United next season. Clearly, Mendes did not council his client to wait for “The Special One.”

Manchester United fans who have been dreaming of bringing Mourinho on board can proceed with waking up now. The Special One won’t be patrolling the sidelines at Old Trafford next season unless it’s as a visiting team’s manager.
