5. It wasn’t a stroll in the park for FCB

Although FC Barcelona won the game 3-0, there were some nervy moments in the game. The first half especially considering that Barcelona knew that the first goal was key. With Real Madrid ahead of Deportivo La Coruna, Barcelona knew they had to win and take control of the game quickly. The two goals by Suarez in the first half eased the nerves of the Barca supporters and it was expected to be an easy second half. But that wasn’t the case.

Granada didn’t have anything to play for but that didn’t stop them from making the Catalans work, especially in the second half. With the score only at 2-0, a goal by Granada would put a lot of pressure on Barcelona. They almost got their goal when Fran Rico found himself in some space between Dani Alves and Gerard Pique and got off a good shot on goal. But it was pushed away by Ter-Stegen. From then on the hosts just kept pushing as they forced corner after corner. But a goal by Suarez killed off any fight they had left. Despite the loss, it was a good effort from Granada. Especially considering that they had nothing to really play for.
