#2- Cyle Larin

On a team that features former Ballon d’Or winner and 2007 FIFA World Player of the Year, Kaka, it is Cyle Larin that usually shines the brightest for Orlando City SC. The top pick in the 2015 MLS Superdraft, Larin broke the league’s rookie scoring record, netting 17 and earning MLS Rookie of the year. He’s avoiding the all too familiar sophomore slump, having four goals and two assists in 8 matches as I write this article. Still only 21 years old, Larin has represented his native Canada on their national team since 2014, scoring 4 goals in 17 caps.

Larin is a very sturdy, 6’2 striker who can score goals with both feet, and doesn’t mind doing it either on strikes from the outside, or following his nose for the ball and poking one past the keeper at close range. Some European clubs have taken notice, with Lazio and Molde apparently zeroing in on the young Canadian. A young forward who is not only physically strong, but very technically savvy as well, it won’t be long before a big check is cut to Orlando City for his services.
