5 teams missing out on Champions League football next season

Chelsea
Finished: 10th in Premier League with 50 points
Just one season after winning the Premier League title, Chelsea bit the dust in the 2015/2016 season. They had just 11 points after their first 12 matches of the season, and it was clear to the fans, and viewers around the world, that this was by no means the same Chelsea side that won the title the year before.
There were glimmers of hope when they won their group in Champions League, but that hope quickly diminished when they lost the first leg 2-1, then floundered at home, losing 2-1 again. It summed up their season pretty well, as Chelsea could not string together back to back wins more than one time the whole season.
Halfway through the season, it was clear they needed a change. They fired their manager Josè Mourinho in hopes that the team would band together and finish the season strong. They did go on a run of form, not losing a match from December 19th up until April 9th, but this was still not enough for the team to salvage anything in terms of positional finish. The club is looking to bring in new signings this summer, hoping they can propel themselves back into European competition next season.
