2. Alvaro Morata

Another one of the most sought after strikers on the transfer market is Juventus striker Alvaro Morata. The Spanish striker was key to another Serie A title for the Old Lady. He scored nine goals and proved to be a good striker next to the likes of Mario Mandzukic and starlet Paulo Dybala.

Morata was key for Juventus on the counterattack as his speed and hold up play helped them defend well and then strike when the opposing team loses possession. Morata also is great inside the box and is a pure poacher, taking advantage of any rebounds given up by opposing goalkeepers. He was brought to Juventus by Antonio Conte and the familiarity could be a big factor in his move away from Juventus, which is complicated in itself.

Real Madrid, Morata’s former and boyhood club, sold him to Juventus with a buyback clause of about 35 million euros. Well, that buyback clause expires at the beginning of the next season and with no backup to Karim Benzema in plain sight, Los Blancos decided to use it on the young striker they cast away.

Morata has said he wants to stay in Italy but it appears that he will be making the move back to Madrid. One possible deal according to the Mirror is a swap deal between Madrid and Chelsea FC with Morata going to the Bridge and winger Eden Hazard moving to the Santiago Bernabeu. Would be an interesting move.
