Tottenham don’t need to make wholesale changes this summer, but these five stars should be sold to bring in new blood

Tottenham know they don’t need to overhaul their roster this summer to position themselves for a run at the Premier League title next season. They only need a mild shakeup of what is a pretty young and talented roster.

Now remember, just because I believe Spurs should part with these five players doesn’t mean that I’ve branded them as wholly incompetent. I believe that all five of these men have the ability to play somewhere in the Premier League, just not at a club challenging for a title.

For some, it comes down to their lack of physical maturity while others lack the tough-minded mental makeup required by Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino. Not everyone can be a star at White Hart Lane. Some players are better off searching out greener pastures at a smaller Premier League club.

Inevitably this list will include some player that you have formed a personal attachment with. My apologies in advance for offending you, but none of these men have what it takes to really flourish at Tottenham. The club needs to produce some revenue to fund incoming transfer purchases and there’s no better way to do that than by selling off some dead wood.

Discover the identity of the five men who will be facing the chop at White Hart Lane this summer.
