Borussia Dortmund’s new signing Ousmane Dembele is putting Bundesliga on notice

With three of their important players gone in the transfer window, Borussia Dortmund’s newest signing Ousmane Dembele looks to negate the club’s losses

Borussia Dortmund and their supporters have had a depressing summer, as they’ve seen three of their biggest stars leave the club. BVB captain Mats Hummels, joined rivals Bayern Munich, while Ilkay Gundogan and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are at Manchester.

With the arrival of Ousmane Dembele, who is one of Europe’s sought after prospects, Mario Gotze and Andre Shurrle both expecting to reach an agreement with the club soon, according to reports, everything will be alright, BVB fans.

Dembele is a MUST watch this pre-season. Not only is he making defenders look foolish, but he is living up to the expectations that were put on him when Dortmund had to clash with other elite European clubs such as, Arsenal, Barcelona, Premiere League Champions Leicester City and Manchester United, for his services.

“Dortmund have looked at me for a long time and have always been in close contact with me and their conduct has really impressed me,” said Dembele, per The Guardian.

“The concept of Borussia totally convinces me. I can’t wait to start playing games in the Signal Iduna Park in front of 80,000 people and to play in the Champions League.”

Indeed, it’s pre-season and the competition isn’t really up to par, but the upside of this phenomenal talent is bright.

Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke had this to say about the wonderkid joining BVB: “Respect to him for the stand he has taken considering all the offers from the best clubs in Europe and has done so for a long time. That is not to take for granted and is a sign of his character.

“Ousmane has always given the impression that he doesn’t want anything else apart from playing for this special club with our intensive football and in our incredible stadium,” also noted by theguardian.

After making his debut for Rennes last November, Dembele, who was named best young player in France this season, scored 12 goals for the club and contributed 5 assists in 25 Ligue 1 matches, while also netting a hat-trick against FC Nantes, which notified every European giant clubs.

The 19-year-old will partner-up with the prolific Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who tallied 25 goals in 31 Bundesliga appearances, his best yet.

Borussia Dortmund fans will be hoping their team can challenge fierce rivals Bayern Munich for the Bundesliga title. It won’t be easy, as Carlo Ancelotti has bolstered his defense with former BVB captain, Mats Hummels, to anchor his back-line with Jerome Boateng.
