Quite a few Tottenham players have a lot to play for during the club’s upcoming International Champions Cup competition

Tottenham may be leaving quite a few stars at White Hart Lane for the club’s upcoming ICC trip to Australia, but that doesn’t mean the matches won’t be hugely important to the squad. In fact, it could be a make or break proposition for quite a few players who hope to play a big role for Mauricio Pochettino next season.

Spurs elected to leave most of their star power out of the squad due to their taxing international team commitments this summer. If you’re expecting to see the likes of Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen or Hugo Lloris in Australia then you’re set to be sorely disappointed. If, on the other hand, you want to check out some of the club’s high-end young talent, the ICC matches will be must-see competitions.

In addition to young starlets trying to cement their status in the first team, some of the club’s new acquisitions also will be trying to make a strong impression to cement their spot in the club’s rotation. They’ll never get another opportunity to make a first impression on their manager and the Spurs’ passionate fan base.

Read on to discover the eight Tottenham players with the most to prove during the club’s upcoming ICC competition. Their performances could mean the difference in significant first team playing time and an obscure loan away from the Premier League this season.
