3. Vincent Janssen

Tottenham fans will be watching Vincent Janssen with a great deal of interest during the ICC action, and with good reason. He is the club’s most expensive purchase of the summer and also plays a position of great importance.

The reason he’s not rated higher on this list is that his position with the club is pretty assured next year. He’s going to be the second choice striker behind Spurs star Harry Kane. The questions regarding Janssen’s status all come down to how many opportunities he’ll receive and how may goals he will score.

Just because he’s set to be the club’s second choice striker doesn’t mean that Janssen doesn’t have plenty riding on his preseason with Tottenham though. If he can show the ability to be an above average Premier League striker then he could be in for serious playing time. If he looks more like a prospect who needs additional seasoning, he may be limited to Cup competitions.

Tottenham really need Janssen to show real ability this summer. Spurs cannot afford to rely on Harry Kane nearly as heavily as they did last year. His struggles in the Euros were a clear sign that he will need more rest this season. Vincent Janssen is Tottenham’s only chance to keep Kane fresh for the long haul.
