EPL: Top 10 strikers for 2016-17

The last two EPL seasons have been very different. After heavily-favored Chelsea rolled to a title in 2014-15, 5,000-1 longshots Leicester City shocked the world in winning the 2015-16 crown. One thing those teams had in common? A true top-of-the-line striker leading the line. For that reason, it’s no surprise that the top 10 strikers heading into this season are all on clubs that figure to be near the top of the table.

So who holds the proverbial “Best Striker in the Premier League” belt? You know, the same belt that the likes of Thierry Henry, Robin van Persie and Luis Suarez have all possessed. There’s no shortage of diversity among the EPL’s top strikers.

Between stars who have grown and established themselves at their clubs to recent breakout goal scorers to newboys looking to make their mark on their new club, someone will set the league ablaze this season with a mix of scintillating golazos, cool slotted finishes and tap-in poaches, all adding up to a Golden Boot in May.

**Quick note before we dive into the list: Only pure strikers here. No exclusively wing players, hybrid-type forwards or false 9s. These are guys who are either out-and-out strikers or forwards in a 4-4-2 formation. Got it? Awesome! Here we go…
