We take a look at the players that Arsenal has been linked with during the summer transfer window and the results of the rumors.

The transfer window is often referred to as the silly season. With the growth of social media, one tweet or Facebook posting about a rumored potential signing can spread quickly and result in mass anxiety for fans waiting for word of new player signings.

Every time a transfer window rolls around speculation begins and Premier League fans go in to meltdown over alleged “reports” of which players will be signing for which club. No fan base is more anxiety ridden by the transfer window than Arsenal fans.

This week the Gunners have been linked with Leicester City midfielder Riyad Mahrez and Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette. These are just the latest two names to circulate in association with a possible Arsenal transfer. In the meantime, the waiting goes on for the fans.

Time will tell whether Arsenal supporters will get the striker they have been craving and if the Mahrez and Lacazette gossip is true. Whatever happens the chatter will continue through August 31st when the summer transfer window closes.

To prove just how silly the transfer window can be, here’s a look at some of the players that have been linked to Arsenal in the current transfer window.
