Is Aubameyang seeking a move to Real Madrid after his recent comments?
The Gabon International had a terrific year last campaign, scoring 39 goals in all competitions while assisting 12, and has said the only club he’ll leave Dortmund for is Real Madrid.
Aubameyang, 27, will have the supporting cast of: Mario Gotze, Marco Reus and the club eighth signings of this summer, Andre Shurrle for a club-record €30 million. Although the price tag of Shurrle’s deal has raised many BVB fans eye-brows, which makes sense because of the 25-year-old failure to succeed in one club.
The Germany international has been with Mainz, Bayer Leverkusen, Chelsea and Wolfsburg for the past six seasons. Dortmund were forced to make a splash deal to ensure their supporters despite losing three of their stars: Henrikh Mkhitaryan, IIkay Gundogan and Mats Hummels this transfer window, they’re working towards improving their squad.
With one of the coveted starlet in Europe, Ousmane Dembele still developing, Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel is hoping Aubameyang can be a mentor to the youngster: “Because of his perfect French, Auba is the perfect integrative figure for Ousmane Dembele. I think that Auba is adult enough to play a role like this,” per zdf.

The prolific forward praised BVB’s recent summer signings and when was asked by zdf about a move away from Dortmund, he had this to say,
“This year, no. But the only club I would leave Dortmund for are Real Madrid. If they don’t come calling, I don’t leave.
“My grandfather, the dad of my mum, always wished that I would play in Spain. Two years ago, when he died, I promised him that someday I will play for Real — and I work hard to reach that goal.
“Real Madrid is my main goal but at the moment I like it in Dortmund. If there is a chance to go to Madrid, I will say immediately yes — but at the moment there is no contact,” said Aubameyang.
After a marvelous season and winning the African Footballer of the year, Madrid were one of the elite European clubs to be linked with Aubameyang.

The question is, are Los Blancos in need of Aubameyang services with Benzema being the top man and Alvaro Morata right behind him in the pecking-order?
Aubameyang can essentially pick any club he desires after the season he just had, but staying with Dortmund will be the right choice for the 27-year-old, and it’s vital BVB keeps their main goal scorer in Westfalenstadion.
