Tottenham learned some valuable lessons in yesterday’s 2-1 loss to Juventus

By now, Tottenham fans should know better than to judge the club’s preseason performance by the match result. Even though Spurs fell 2-1 to Juventus yesterday, the match taught Mauricio Pochettino and company quite a few important lessons.

Frankly, the result is exactly what Spurs fans should have expected. The club left most of its top talent at home to rest, and trotted out a lineup of mostly young and inexperienced players. What made things even more difficult, was the fact that Poch was forced to play several youngsters in brand new positions against the Serie A giants.

In spite of those difficulties, there were several Spurs who really showed they will factor heavily into the club’s first team next year. On the other hand, several Tottenham starlets made it quite clear they’re going to need more seasoning before they come anywhere near Pochettino’s first team.

The important thing isn’t that Tottenham lost the match, it’s that they gain valuable insight about the depth of their squad as a result of the Juve test. That goal was clearly achieved. Read on to discover the top five lessons Tottenham learned about their club after falling to The Old Lady.
