Real Madrid need to use James Rodriguez and Isco to pry Paul Pogba away from Juventus
If it is really true that Real Madrid won’t spend the money to outbid Manchester United for Paul Pogba, then the La Liga giants need to be more creative. They should leverage two of their current stars in a shocking swap offer to bring Pogba to the Spanish capital.
Reports claim that Real Madrid have contacted Juventus about Pogba once again, but the Serie A giants insist they won’t lower their asking price for the French phenom. It’s thought that only Manchester United have the interest and financial power required to sign the star midfielder.
This doesn’t mean that Los Blancos are powerless in their quest to acquire Pogba though. It just means they need to use some of their non-cash assets to sweeten their offer to Juventus. There’s no better way for Zinedine Zidane’s club to do that than to dangle the likes of James Rodriguez and Isco in front of The Old Lady.

Neither attacker has been able to find a real home at Real Madrid, but both still have significant value on the world stage. In particular, James is still viewed as one of the world’s brightest stars after his standout performance for Colombia during Copa America.
Isco’s stock might have dropped further than that of his talented teammate, but many around the world still hold him in high esteem as well. The point is, that both attacking midfielders would be very attractive assets to offer to Juventus.
Offering one, or both players would greatly offset the amount of cash that Madrid would need to include in any potential Pogba deal. It would also allay any concerns Juventus might have about being able to attract star players after a Pogba exit. The simplest way to eliminate this concern is to provide them with at least one big-name star in the exchange.
Surely an offer of James Rodriguez, Isco and 30 million pounds would be very interesting to club officials at Juve. I might argue the point that such an offer would be more valuable than Manchester United’s potential cash offer in excess of 100 million pounds.
If Juventus received that sudden infusion of cash, no club in the world would offer them any sort of discount on a player purchase in the near future. In fact, they’d likely see other clubs take hardline negotiating stances against them due to their obvious wealth.

Making that sort of swap offer would allow Juventus to seriously consider an inquiry from Real Madrid. The Spanish giants would be offering something that Manchester United would be powerless to match. Jose Mourinho’s club just doesn’t have that sort of high-end, surplus talent to include in the transaction. Real Madrid can afford to lose two such talented stars because they possess so many other attacking luminaries.
At this point, Real Madrid need to do something drastic if they’re going to come out ahead in the race for Paul Pogba. Offering to include James Rodriguez and Isco in the deal certainly would qualify. It could also be a brilliant move to trump Manchester United in the race for one of the world’s top talents.
