Could PSG potentially sign Jese Rodriguez from Real Madrid?

Jese Rodriguez future at the Santiago Bernabeu is in doubt after the club exercised a buy-back clause in Alvaro Morata’s contract. With the unmovable trio in Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo, the Spaniard will find it difficult to challenge for playing time.

Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane has advised the 23-year-old to search for a new club to enjoy his football as there won’t be a room for him in the squad.

“It is a difficult situation,” Zidane said. “Having a big squad means problems for the teams. But that is what comes with being Madrid coach. I have no problem with the idea of putting in the kids coming through. Many go and then return — like Morata, Lucas and [Dani] Carvajal,” said Zidane at a press conference, per as.

“I am delighted with the squad I have and we will need them with many games to come. Jese is part of that squad and it’s true that last year he did not play much. If I were his friend, or family member, I would tell him to look for more playing time. But I am his coach and maybe he can get that here. We will see. I am happy with him, I know him well, I know his quality.”

Jese joined Madrid’s first team in 2011 from the club academy during the Jose Mourhino era, scoring 13 goals in more than 50 league matches. He was one of Europe’s exciting young forwards with his blazing speed and the ability to beat full-backs before tearing his ACL, leading to the question, will he ever recover his good form?

After the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain head coach Unai Emery has said the club could potentially sign Jese from Real Madrid to give the French Champions more attacking options.

“It’s a possibility, as are other opportunities in the transfer window,” said Emery, skysports revealed

“I know Jese well, the club knows Jese well, he is a good player.”

Although the Spain international has often said he wants to fight for his place in Madrid, the best move for Jese is finding a new club where he can get his confidence up and going. His former Valdebebas academy teammate Alvaro Morata had a successful two-year loan spell at Juventus, now he’s ready to fight for his place. Jese should learn from this and take the same route.
