3. Marouane Fellaini

The towering Belgian midfielder is another squad member who is likely to leave Old Trafford this summer. In particular, rumours abound that Fellaini could reconnect with his old pal David Moyes at Sunderland.

That would seem to be a reasonable move for all involved. Moyes will want to recruit some familiar faces to his new club, and Fellaini did thrive under his management at Everton. Of course, that feels like 100 years ago given how much both the player and manager’s stocks have fallen since that point.

I don’t have a lot of confidence that Fellaini really has anything left in the tank, but he won’t have to be all that good to help Sunderland avoid relegation. He is still an imposing figure in tight spaces and a supreme aerial threat in the final third.

The trouble is that his height is really his only redeeming talent at this point. He struggles to move well enough to be a midfielder and will need a very rigid system to succeed in that role. Lucky for him, Moyes still believes in him quite a bit more than I do. At any rate, he isn’t good enough to help Mourinho and United next season.
