5. Carlos Bacca /// AC Milan /// 29 years old /// 36 (2) league apps /// 18 goals

Bacca isn’t a signing for years to come, he’s someone that’d be brought in to help a team in the interim for two or three years. He turns 30 by the fourth gameweek of the Premier League season.

The Colombian may not be a player that’d command a start in every single game for any of the money rich clubs at the top of the Premier League, unlike his consistency at Milan and the club’s reliance on him, but he’d do a job and score goals.

West Ham are heavily in pursuit of Bacca for a ludicrous fee of £30million for a player at his age. That’s a huge sum for West Ham, but certainly not as much for Chelsea or Arsenal. At West Ham, Bacca would play just about every single week, though.

More from Arsenal FC

Bacca’s pace, finishing and movement makes him a good fit for any club, really, but he might not be the type of player to excel at Arsenal’s quick combination play. Giroud is underrated at times for Arsenal because of his stellar hold up play and ability to accentuate quick attacks with the diminutive midfielders around him rather than slow them down.

Chelsea would be a better fit for Bacca and Roman Abramovich burns money so his fee would mean nothing. Before Milan, Bacca was at Sevilla who liked to play on the counter where he was supremely successful. In his final season in Seville, he scored 20 goals in 31 La Liga starts.
