Strikers usually donā€™t make the greatest captains. Typically central defenders or midfielders take the arm band. On top of that, itā€™s rare to find a 23-year-old captain. Much less at a club with the history of Inter Milan.

But thatā€™s who Inter chose as captain: Mauro Icardi, a 23-year-old striker.

In 32 Serie A starts, Icardi was the divisionā€™s fourth highest scorer. Two seasons ago Icardi found the back of the net 22 times in 33 starts in the league, a proven scorer in Italyā€™s top flight.

Icardi has been regularly linked with a move away from his club and the Argentine has been the subject of interest from the Premier League. With Arsenal and Chelsea reportedly looking for strike help, Icardi would be a great addition for both clubs both for the present and the future.

At Arsenal, Icardi would be the standard young 20ā€™s purchase, someone who will improve under Wenger. Heā€™d be a different option to Giroud, one whoā€™s more fleet of foot. If Wenger would ever bend on his 4-2-3-1, he could partner the Frenchman once in a while, something that would help both players.

For Chelsea, Icardi would likely be the first choice striker while Batshuayi and Costa would have to battle to partner the Inter skipper.
