Newcastle United have been relegated. Now it is time to let the healing begin.

A dark cloud hung over St. James Park in May of this year. For the second time in less than ten seasons Newcastle United were to be relegated. A side with perhaps some of the most loyal supporters and a history with its fair share of positive moments, Newcastle have always proven to be a well-respected side in the Premier League.

But without the Premier League to hang their hats on what would the Magpies do? Will they fall and never get back up like Leeds, Nottingham Forrest, Coventry City, and so many other regulars of first division football? Will Newcastle United be stuck in the lower of divisions of English football forever?

Although there is some truth to those fears all hope is not lost for the Toon Army. Since we here at Playing for 90 always try to put our best foot forward (look at the name of our website) we believe 2016-2017 won’t suck for Newcastle United. Matter of fact there are plenty of reasons to be excited!

What are those reasons? Let’s find out!
