Tottenham learned these five valuable lessons in their 6-1 domination of Inter Milan

Tottenham fans know better than to overreact to a positive preseason result, but it was hard not to be excited about Spurs after the club’s 6-1 annihilation of Inter Milan yesterday. It was an offensive explosion from a Tottenham squad that had scored to exert much offensive pressure in its previous two outings.

Really, there were positives all over the pitch for Tottenham against the Serie A opposition. Aside from a ten minute stretch during the first half, Spurs utterly dominated the match. Mauricio Pochettino’s side was surely aided by the inclusion of the majority of their starting 11, but almost everyone who saw the pitch impressed the Spurs fans in attendance.

The applicable question is which of the standout performances we saw against Inter will translate directly into solid Premier League performances. Dominating Inter in a friendly is one thing, doing the same to Everton next week is an entirely different matter.
