Columbus Crew SC striker Ola Kamara

To be fair, Ola Kamara’s already broken out this year, I just think we could see him break out even more in the second half. The Kamara headline early this season was Columbus Crew SC moving their superstar striker Kei Kamara to New England.

The under the radar Kamara move was before the season started, when the Crew added Norwegian striker Ola Kamara. Following Kei’s departure, Ola exploded onto the scene. Finding himself the top option up top, Ola took full advantage of his opportunity. His 10 goals on the season are only three behind David Villa, the top scorer in MLS so far.

Last year’s MLS Cup runner-up Columbus currently sits outside the playoff picture in the Eastern Conference. If they make a strong run to qualify for the playoffs, or even make a deep run in the playoffs, it will surely be in part due to Kamara’s scoring ability up top.

Imagine a storyline where Ola leads Columbus past Kei’s Revolution in the postseason! One thing’s for sure, Ola Kamara is a bona fide scorer in this league, and will continue to become a bigger star as the season jugs along.
