Is Paul Pogba worthy of world-record £89 million?
After a summer full of speculations, Manchester United finally got their man Paul Pogba, again.
It’s official, Manchester United finally re-signed the France international Paul Pogba to a world-record transfer fee of £89 million, after leaving for Juventus in 2012.
In four years with the Bianconeri, Pogba made 178 appearances, collecting 34 goals and powered Juventus to the Champions League final in 2015.
Pogba signed with United as a 16-year-old back in 2009 from French side Le Havre, but felt unwanted after appearing in just seven games with the club.
The 23-year-old was link with the move to Real Madrid, and now the club believe they can lure any player they desires. Los Merengues have shattered the transfer market the last couple of years with the signings of Cristiano Ronaldo and Welsh international Gareth Bale. United seems to be back in business after acquiring Paul Pogba and rejecting Real’s new offer for their star goalkeeper David De Gea.

The Spaniard nearly joined Madrid last summer for £25 million, but late paperwork stalled the deal. De Gea then went on to sign a new four-year deal with Manchester United, BBC Sport’s documented.
Former Manchester United legend Gary Neville is certain the club made a big statement keeping Paul Pogba away from both Real Madrid and FC Barcelona.
Per Mirror UK, “I think it is a big fee, but the Premier League was losing players left, right and centre to Spain – all the grade A players,” said Neville.
“We couldn’t entice players to come here and we couldn’t keep them when we had the best ones. Now it looks like we are signing a player who would be regarded as a top signing of the summer.”
The Red Devils are out to win the Premier League with the signings of former Villarreal central defender Eric Bailly, Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and attacking midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Dortmund.
Pogba took the time to thank his old club and their supporters just before Manchester United confirmed the deal.
Pogba mom knew he would eventually return to Old Trafford and that it was his “destiny” playing for the club that once let him walk free.
“It was like I’d just come back home. I just went for a holiday,” he told MUTV.
Working under Jose Mourinho will be a challenge, but Pogba seems to be ready for the former Chelsea boss, said he had spoken to him prior his eye-watering big money move.
“He gave me energy, he gave me positivity,” said Pogba. “They all told me he’s the coach for me – he will make me improve a lot and make me work harder.”

While many thinks Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are the only two players worth €100 million, Paul Pogba is worth every penny United exhausted on him.
Adding a player like Pogba, who is one of the best in the world to your squad, guarantees a revamped midfield, which is why the club spent a fortune on him.
He brings creativity in the central midfield the club lacked last campaign. The partnerships of Marouane Fellaini, Bastian Schweinsteiger, who Bayern Munich were happy to get rid of because of his injury troubles, Michael Carrick, Ander Herrera and Morgan Schneiderlin aren’t the most mobile players. Pogba is fast, has a great stamina to go along with his speed, can cover a lot of ground and his decision-making goes unnoticed because of his excellent skill set.
