5. Marcus Edwards will earn two new contracts

You have to give Mauricio Pochettino credit, when one of his youth players deserves a new contract, he gets one. Tottenham’s latest high ceiling starlet will earn two next season.

Yes, I know that Edwards only recently signed his first professional contract and he’s still just 17-years-old. I also know outrageous talent when I see it. Edwards has the potential to be a world-class attacking player.

Tottenham will need to compensate him accordingly. Otherwise, other clubs will come calling and try to turn the young attacking midfielder’s head. The best way for Spurs to prevent him from leaving the club, is to make sure he never considers a departure.

That’s why Edwards is going to earn multiple contract extensions next year. He’ll receive one on his 18th birthday after sparking League Cup play. The next, he’ll earn after he scores a hugely important goal in a late-season Premier League bout.
