6. Kane and Janssen will start at least 10 matches together

Pochettino already showed his willingness to play the two together in the friendly against Inter Milan. The result was an impressive offensive explosion. You’ll see the combination again many times this season.

I believe that Pochettino will be much more varied in terms of his formation choices this year. He favors a 4-2-3-1 but you’ll see a fair amount of 4-4-2 given the current options. It should be hugely helpful against teams that try to park the bus against the talented Spurs attack.

Just look at the success Leicester City had with the formation last year. More teams will try to emulate elements of the Foxes’ title run, and Tottenham will do the same.

There’s also the possibility that Pochettino will supplement his lack of attacking midfield options by playing Kane as a number ten. Janssen excels as a number nine due to his hold-up play, but Kane has serious attacking versatility.

Expect to see Kane and Janssen play together a ton this season.
