4. Michel Vorm isn’t going anywhere

The worst moment of the match from a Spurs perspective was when Hugo Lloris went off injured. The club was dead in the water at the moment, already down a goal, and then had to watch their captain leave the pitch. Things looked quite dire as the Frenchman left the field of play.

Ironically, the lone Everton goal was arguably Lloris’ fault. He could have come out and played Barkley’s curling free kick, but indecision left him glued to his line. Vorm, on the contrary, made a stellar one-on-one save in relief of the French captain.

That doesn’t mean that Vorm is anywhere near Lloris’ equal as a keeper. It only means that relying on him in net isn’t a terrible proposition. If Lloris misses a few matches, Vorm can do a solid job in his place.

That means that Celtic fans can forget all about acquiring the Spurs backup keeper. He’ll be staying at White Hart Lane for the foreseeable future.
