It is hard out here for a Spur.

2015-2016 was supposed to be Tottenham’s season. With all of the Premier League favorites struggling, Arsenal being Arsenal, and Leicester City somehow leading the league it seemed like this might be the season that Tottenham may finally win the Premier League title.

Ah, but it was not meant to be for Spurs. Tottenham dropped points in each of their last four matches. Their fall was just enough to make their Premier League title aspirations impossible, and perhaps worst of all, give Arsenal the opportunity to once again slip ahead of them in the table.

Now this might sound like a perfect opportunity to call a phone in and rail about how everyone needs to go. But there is a lot to like about this team. Given that management was able to keep all of their top young players and that they will have a chance in the Champions League it would seem wise not have a fire sale. Tottenham is also a known quantity and in a league where many of the power clubs (Manchester United, Chelsea, and more recently Manchester City) will have growing pains under new management Spurs should come into the season with a year of experience.

That at least is the hope of Spurs supporters. The fear is though that might not be enough against sides that spend 100 million pounds like it is a penny farthing found on the street.

Next: Hope #1: That Alli, Dier, Kane, Rose, and Walker can forget about England and Euro 2016.
