Chelsea FC played and defeated Bristol Rovers in an EFL Cup match that was not televised so here are the photos of the best moments!
How often do one of the biggest clubs in world football play a match and it not be televised? Well not often but that was the case as Chelsea FC took on League One side Bristol Rovers at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.
The Blues came out on top against a plucky side as Antonio Conte rotated his squad heavily, making several changes to the side that came back to win against Watford FC. Here are some of the best moments from the goalfest at the Bridge:
Michy Batshuayi Goal 29th minute (1-0)
Chelsea FC were well on top and in control of things but could not find the back of the net against Bristol. Branislav Ivanovic had a close range effort smothered and Michy Batshuayi turned his defender after a lovely pass from Ruben Loftus-Cheek but sent his shot wide in a 1v1 situation with the keeper. Loftus-Cheek also saw a shot from just outside the box carom off the post and away from a danger after a hasty clearance.
Just shy of the half hour mark, Batshuayi finally found the back of the net. Loftus-Cheek showed his strength with some hold up play at the top of the box and found Nemanja Matic making a run in to the box and laid the ball off to him. The Serb surged in to the area and his scuffed cross found Batshuayi and the Belgian smashed it in to the net. It was a well-deserved goal for the Blues.
