Right Back

Most fans would perceive Nathaniel Clyne versus Kyle Walker as a pretty even matchup. Before this season, that would have been a pretty accurate description. Unfortunately for Clyne, he’s off to a rough start to the campaign whereas Walker has been magnificent.

Walker beat Clyne to be England’s first choice right back this summer and he’s built off that momentum. He’s arguably been Spurs’ best performer through the first two matches.

Both men will face serious challenges on Saturday. The systems of each manager requires both men to contribute mightily on both the defensive and offensive ends of the pitch. That’s a lot of stress on both men.

Tottenham get the edge here because of the simple fact that Walker has been much better to start the season. Clyne could easily regain his form and outperform his English rival on Saturday, but that’s not the most likely outcome.
