Group E

CSKA Moscow
Bayer Leverkusen
Tottenham Hotspur
Monaco

The story of this group, at least for English fans, is how fortunate Tottenham Hotspur got with this draw. They will face three clubs that are hardly top-tier in Europe, although any away trips to Russia are always difficult but at least they will be doing so on a Tuesday or Wednesday and not a Thursday.

Monaco will be somewhat challenging and CSKA Moscow have some real quality but they will be propping up the table for the two attacking sides in Spurs and Bayer Leverkusen. Spurs will be facing a familiar foe in Javier Chicharito Hernandez who has been a revelation at Leverkusen since making his move from Manchester United. Hernandez scored five goals in nine European appearances last season and will look to feast on some weak competition in the group.

Leverkusen will win the group after some goalfests with Tottenham who will finish second. Monaco will finish fourth and CSKA Moscow will make their way in to the Europa League.
