5. Holland

Holland has provided many stars to English football since the inception of the Premier League in 1992. Some of the biggest names include Robin van Persie, Edwin van der Sar, Dennis Bergkamp, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Marc Overmars, Arjen Robben and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

Today there are 17 Dutchmen in the Premier League. This recent crop of Dutch players, however, doesn’t have the same star power as those of the past. Perhaps it’s a coincidence but the current Dutch national team did not qualify for this summer’s Euro 2016 tournament.

The most recognized Dutch names currently playing in England’s top flight include Manchester United’s forward Memphis Depay and center back Davey Blind. New Everton keeper Maarten Stekelenburg also hails from the Netherlands.
