Ranking All Twenty World Cup Winners

Top World Cup Winners All-Time: Number Four – France, 1998

France’s first ever title is also one of the most impressive titles in World Cup history. This France side was unbelievable with the talent that was coursing through the pitch. Zinedine Zidane, Thierry Henry, Emmanuel Petite, Laurent Blanc, the list goes on. This French side was destined to win and, for once, nothing went wrong.

France won their group with nine goals scored and one surrendered. By the end of the tournament, they had scored 15 and only surrendered a measly two goals. For those of you that don’t want to do the math, that means that they only surrendered one goal in the knockout stages – that part of the competition where the opposition is the strongest.

Moving into the finals, France was not going to be beaten. The trounced the perennial World Cup powerhouse Brazil by a score of 3-0. The game was essentially won at half time.
