Hugo Lloris-9.5
It’s hard to describe in words just how good Lloris was today. He made several top-notch saves against City’s vaunted attack. A lesser keeper could have let two goals find the back of the net.
Instead, Tottenham’s defense earned a very impressive clean sheet. Lloris’ stellar play was arguably the biggest reason why.
Jan Vertonghen-9
For my money this was Vertonghen’s best match of the season. He was commanding in the air and also showed an incredible sense of when to go forward to break up play and when to lie in wait. He didn’t put a foot wrong on the afternoon and it’s hard to imagine him playing any better.

Toby Alderweireld-8
Vertonghen’s partner had a pretty solid match as well. His performance didn’t flash as brightly as his Belgian partner, but he was very solid on the afternoon. His positioning was a huge key to Tottenham’s ability to keep City striker Sergio Aguero in check. Alderweireld was excellent against the Spurs nemesis.
Kyle Walker-7.5
The English right back just keeps putting in above average performances. He’s been one of the club’s best players on the season and today was no different. Walker may not have had any of his offensive forays lead to a goal, but he provided real width in attack.
Defensively, he continued his excellent play. He got his positioning spot on and made every challenge he needed to make. It was another terrific performance from Walker.
Danny Rose-7
Tottenham fans should be thrilled to have their first choice left back in the starting XI again. Rose didn’t have his best match against City, but as usual, he competed for 90 minutes.
He tormented Raheem Sterling for large stretches of the match. That led to Sterling putting in a pretty useless performance. Rose gets downgraded slightly for his silly yellow card, but otherwise it was a solid performance.
