Number 8-Harry Kane is resting

Many fans and pundits predicted doom and gloom when news hit that Harry Kane would miss weeks of action due to an ankle injury. All Tottenham have done in his absence is find a new goal scoring forward in the form of Son Heung-Min.

Even the most optimistic Spurs fan knew that Kane was going to need serious rest this season. He looked burned out during the Euros and that malaise continued to haunt him at the start of the Premier League campaign.

Obviously, Tottenham would have preferred to give Kane regular rest over time, but instead they were forced to put him on the shelf for a significant length of time. That’s going to pay dividends when he comes back from injury. Expect to see an energetic Kane down the stretch.

Number 7-Tottenham are really hard to beat

I don’t mean this statement as purely a tongue-in-cheek rationale. The truth is, Spurs are still undefeated on the Premier League season. The fact that they’re so difficult to defeat, will gain them valuable points down the stretch.

Winning a match is always the goal, but there’s something to be said for not losing a match either. Tottenham’s combination of offensive and defensive talent will make them extraordinarily difficult to defeat outright this year.
