Number 6-They’ve broken the Dembele curse

Tottenham used to be entirely dependent on midfielder Moussa Dembele to win an important match. The difference between average points earned with versus without the Belgian was truly staggering.

This season, it seems the club have figured out how to win a match without Dembele in the mix. It began with the need to play without him as he served his suspension to begin the year. Unfortunately, Pochettino’s squad has been forced to play without Dembele due to injury as of late.

The upside is that Tottenham have learned how to win without him. They’re still a better side with him in the starting XI, but they’re pretty good even when he isn’t available for selection.

Number 5-Youth is naive

It’s a well-known fact that Tottenham are among the youngest squads in all of Europe. They certainly rely more heavily on young players than any other Premier League title contender.

Some might point to that lack of experience as a detriment to Spurs’ title dreams. On the contrary, it has the potential to serve as a massive positive. Most of the young talent on the squad doesn’t know they should feel pressure to grab a Premier League title when they have an opportunity. They aren’t likely to tighten up down the stretch as a result.

The ability of Tottenham’s youth to play loose and free will give them a valuable edge as the season progresses.
