Left Back-Danny Rose

As much as Tottenham missed Moussa Dembele during his suspension, the injury to Danny Rose had a much more profound impact on how the club played. The drop off from Rose to Davies at the left back position highlighted just how important the Spurs’ starter is.

Much like Walker, Rose’s improvement under Pochettino has been pretty remarkable. He’s also drastically improved his mental game to go along with his above-average athleticism. Rose still gets caught too far up the pitch on occasion, but it’s a level of aggression you have to appreciate.

Even more important than his physical gifts, Rose’s will to compete serves as in inspiration for his Tottenham teammates. There’s no player in the Premier League who competes as hard as Rose. You can tell that losing a match simply drives him insane.

Rose isn’t going to displace Hugo Lloris as the Tottenham captain any time soon, but he’s absolutely a leader on the pitch. In many ways, Danny Rose is the heartbeat of his club.
