Left Attacking Midfielder-Son Heung-Min
While Son doesn’t deserve the nod over Harry Kane at striker, that doesn’t mean he shouldn’t be in the first XI. The prolific Korean should be in the lineup as an attacking midfielder.
Frankly, which attacking midfield spot he occupies doesn’t make a ton of difference. Pochettino’s squad interchanges positions frequently amongst their attackers. Just because he starts on the left, doesn’t mean he won’t see a lot of time in the middle.
What he brings to the Spurs’ starting XI is fairly obvious. Most importantly, he brings another prolific goal scoring threat to the attack. When Kane returns from injury, that should make both men even more dangerous.
He also has shown the ability to contribute heavily to Pochettino’s high-press this season. His energy at the top of the formation will also be a key for the club down the stretch. Son’s excellent play this season earns him an unquestioned place in the starting XI.
