Right Centre Back-Toby Alderweireld

The Belgian defender is quite possibly Tottenham’s best, most valuable player. His arrival at White Hart Lane transformed the club’s defense into one of the best in the Premier League.

He isn’t England’s most physical defender, but his skill on the ball is truly something to behold. His long diagonals are an absolute terror for opposing Premier League defenders.

His almost telekinetic connection with Jan Vertonghen also pays huge dividends for the club. Each man knows exactly where his teammate is going to be, even before they begin to move. Their chemistry is a huge comfort to keeper Hugo Lloris.

With all due respect to Cameron Carter-Vickers and Kevin Wimmer, an injury to Alderweireld might be the one injury that Tottenham couldn’t survive. His presence at the back is just that important for Pochettino’s club.
