Danny Rose – £50 million

Tottenham’s other England international fullback is the spiritual leader of the club. That’s why Spurs won’t part with Danny Rose for anything less than £50 million.

His absence due to injury highlighted just how important he is for the club. He’s not only an above-average defender, he also plays a significant role in the Spurs attack. His marauding runs down the left flank make Tottenham exceedingly difficult to combat.

Ben Davies – £20 million

Davies deserves credit for how well he performed in Rose’s absence this season. He certainly didn’t equal what Rose provides on the pitch, but he didn’t hurt the club either.

That may seem like damning praise and in many ways, I suppose it is. The Welshman just doesn’t offer the same vibrancy that Rose does. That’s why the club would be relatively open to letting him go. £20 million for a starting left back is quite a bargain in today’s transfer market.
