Daley Blind – £35 million

For all the talk about how Blind is better served to play somewhere other than centre back, he certainly mans the position well for Mourinho. He’s established himself as one of the first names on The Special One’s team sheet.

He is the club’s second highest rated player per Whoscored.com and also boasts the ability to play numerous positions. Blind would be a very expensive player to replace, thus the high transfer price tag.

Eric Bailly – £45 million

United’s big defensive signing from the summer has acquitted himself quite well this year. He’s started all seven of the club’s Premier League matches and hasn’t looked out-of-place for even a moment.

That’s quite an accomplishment for a 22-year-old. Bailly is a player capable of starting in United’s back four for many years to come. Absent of a giant transfer bid, expect to see just that happen.

Chris Smalling – £35 million

The English defender isn’t playing up to his full potential this season, but he’s still a valuable commodity for United. He had an excellent season under Van Gaal last year and it’s reasonable to expect him to return to form soon.

At any rate, the club won’t be giving up on Smalling any time soon. He’s still reasonably young, and of course, English, which makes him an essential piece of the club’s future. Any club inquiring about Smalling is likely going to receive a quick refusal from the higher-ups at Old Trafford.

David de Gea – £50 million

Holding on to the Spanish keeper is a sincere point of pride for United. Fans of the Premier League giants love the fact that their beloved club was able to refuse the likes of Real Madrid.

De Gea’s spectacular play, coupled with the pride of keeping him at all costs, drives his transfer value through the roof. If anyone wants the Spanish shot stopper they’re going to have to come with a very strong financial offer.
