The Striker

Let me start by dashing the hopes of most Tottenham fans. I don’t expect to see Son Heung-Min start this match for Spurs. Instead, expect to see Vincent Janssen lead the line once again.

Son can’t start all seven matches in this stretch and it’s very important to have him fit for Tuesday’s Champions League encounter against Bayer Leverkusen. Don’t forget, he also travelled a great deal during the International Break.

In some ways, it’s the perfect match to start Janssen. He’s uniquely suited for the figurative fist fight that’s likely to occur on Saturday. It won’t be a pretty match, and Janssen isn’t a pretty striker.

Son Heung-Min is still on fire, but Pochettino is going to put him on ice for the time being. Well, at least until Tuesday. Spurs fans should hope that Vincent Janssen is able to regain some valuable confidence against the Baggies.
