2. The magic of Anfield

I can actually feel the collective eyes of the Manchester United fan base rolling when they read this. They might not like to think of the home field advantage Liverpool will enjoy, but it’s very real.

You can fully expect Jurgen Klopp to have his club’s fan base whipped into an absolute frenzy for the match. The charismatic German boss has a special relationship with his fans and he’ll count on them for an extra edge Monday.

Mourinho is fortunate to have quite a few veterans to play, but they’re still human beings. Even someone as accomplished as Zlatan Ibrahimovic or Wayne Rooney still will be affected by the raucous atmosphere. No one is entirely immune to its effects.

If this match were at Old Trafford, I might fancy United’s chances at taking all three points. The fact that it’s being played at Anfield gives a decided edge to Klopp and company.
